What's in a Name?

Where does the name 'Bistro Blanc' come from? As the ownership team began to bring the restaurant together, a lot of names were in the mix. But none seemed to evoke the modern American bistro cuisine and atmosphere that Chef Marc Dixon envisioned.

One summer evening, Chef Marc and his fiance were sitting on their deck in Maryland enjoying a bottle of one of their favorite wines. It was Maui Blanc, a pineapple wine (don't knock it 'til you try it) they had fallen in love with in Maui. As they reminisced about their time in the islands together, Marc began playing with the alliteration of the words 'bistro' and 'blanc'. The name felt right and later passed the test with the rest of the ownership team. Bistro Blanc was born.
